Your development decision
Create labelled photographs that explain appearance, direction and scale while keeping physical and specification questions open.
Photograph the whole sample
Show the overall cloth, face, reverse and edges where relevant. Use one sample identity across the views. Include a separate close view rather than allowing a macro image to stand for the full surface.
Place scale in the same plane
For a visible pattern or feature measurement, put a ruler beside the cloth in the same plane. Record units and direction. Without scale, the photo should not be used to claim an exact repeat or thickness.
Use normal and angled light
Normal light helps communicate general colour; angled light can reveal surface texture and fibre coverage. Label the lighting and orientation. Do not edit the two views into fictitious different fabric products.
Show folds without claiming performance
A gentle fold or hanging panel can introduce the shape seen in that arrangement. Keep sample dimensions and direction with the image. The photograph does not establish measured drape, touch, stretch or a wearing result.
Name what the picture cannot confirm
Ask separately for composition, GSM, width, yarn route and current sample availability. A photo cannot substantiate those values or an untested care instruction. Keep the supplier specification alongside the images.
Send a clear image note
Label reference, view and date and explain which feature you like or want to change. Keep external inspiration clearly identified. Add garment, expected quantity and next sample task when asking Fred to discuss a direction.
Working review record
Scroll the table horizontally on small screens.
| Review point | What to record | Next decision |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Project, reference, version and date | Keep records connected |
| Target | Requested appearance or numerical requirement | Separate from fact |
| Source | Supplier document or actual observation | Confirm applicability |
| Open item | Missing field or uncompleted trial | Assign next action |
