Identify the project and samples
Begin with project, fabric reference, cloth version, garment sample and review date. State whether the material has been received. A plan without material can list tasks, but observations should remain blank until reviewed.
Record actual making conditions
Keep cutting direction, pattern, seam construction, support, lining and pressing process together. Add photograph references if used. Conditions are part of the record, not automatic recommendations for other cloths.
Describe the wearing sequence
Record wearer, underlayers, activity, duration and rest period. Name the observed garment areas. A knee observation from one construction should not silently become a conclusion about a different fit or lining.
Keep before and after separate
Enter baseline and later observations in separate fields with method and units where relevant. Care measurements should use the same locations. Leave missing information blank rather than filling zero or a presumed pass.
Use the three review states
Not checked means no conclusion has been recorded. Acceptable for this trial is a reviewer’s judgement on this sample. Discuss identifies an open point. None of these automatically certifies a laboratory result or approves bulk production.
A teaching entry
Example only: “Hem bending: before care, broad fold at the trial hem; after care, not yet reviewed; status: not checked; next action: complete agreed care review.” This demonstrates a record structure, not a result for a Fred product.
