Your development decision
Assess flannel against the actual uniform programme: repeated wear, coordinated shade, care and documented acceptance requirements.
Describe roles and wear conditions
State the wearer’s activity, garment set, working environment and underlayers. Separate appearance, comfort and operational requirements. A uniform programme should begin with its actual use case rather than a broad durability claim.
Collect the buyer requirements
List mandatory composition, colour and test requirements and identify their source or revision. Keep discretionary preferences separate. Ask the relevant technical team to define methods and acceptance criteria instead of borrowing an unrelated pass threshold.
Coordinate sets and replenishment
Plan which garments need the same shade and how lots will be allocated. Discuss replenishment timing and retention of approved samples. Do not assume a later order will match an earlier shade without confirmation and review.
Trial the full construction
Use production-intended seams, linings, closures and support. Include loaded areas such as seat, knees, pockets and elbows. Record the actual conditions and compare before and after observations on the same sample version.
Evaluate the intended care cycle
Define the proposed cleaning process for the complete uniform and include all components in a care trial. Review dimensions, colour, surface and fit. Fabric advice is an input; it does not replace validation of the finished garment system.
Prepare the commercial programme
Send Fred total quantity, colour and size-related allocation, delivery schedule and required documents. Ask for a feasible reference, sample arrangements and quotation basis. Keep unresolved technical points visible before approving a production order.
Working review record
Scroll the table horizontally on small screens.
| Review point | What to record | Next decision |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Pattern version, shape and wearing use | Confirm the trial objective |
| Making | Support, lining, seam and pressing conditions | Review representative sections |
| Wearing | Contact areas, activity and rest period | Record actual observations |
| Care | Agreed process and before/after measurements | Approve only the reviewed scope |
Before the next sample round
- Identify cloth and garment sample versions
- Record construction and lining
- Photograph the same areas before and after
- Keep missing evidence as not checked
- List open questions for Fred
